First Lutheran Church has a vibrant music program with numerous opportunities for sharing your musical gifts. There is a place here for singers and instrumentalists of all ages, talent levels, and amounts of time that they can commit.

First Lutheran Choir

The First Lutheran Choir is for adults and teens, and it is open to anyone who would like to sing at worship services and attend rehearsals. The choir leads the congregational singing of hymns and liturgical music and sings choral works that come from the earliest Christian traditions through those of the present time, focusing on the Lutheran tradition. The First Lutheran Choir sings nearly every Sunday of the program year (September-May), also singing on Christmas Eve and during Holy Week.

Jubilate Handbell Choir

Our three-octave bell choir rings in worship several Sundays a month. They also play Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve. Repertoire’s emphasis is on liturgical bell-ringing and hymn-based settings. Past ringing experience is not necessary. However, the ability to count rhythms and read music is important. Questions? Please contact Jenne Burnham, Handbell Choir Director.

Please contact Dr. Wayne L. Wold, Director of Music, for questions about our Music Ministry or music concerts and events.

Children’s Choir

Musical opportunities for children take place during the Sunday morning education hour, 11-noon, during the school year. The older children sing for worship about once per month. Contact Mark Helms mark@firstlutheranec.org or Wayne Wold wayne@firstlutheranec.org for more information.

Instrumentalists, both members and guests, are heard often at our worship services throughout the year. Contact Wayne Wold wayne@firstlutheranec.org for more information.
