Plans are underway to coordinate the many logistical aspects of our annual Christmas basket food drive. Every year for over two decades, First Lutheran disciples have come through in many ways to bring smiles to the faces of the 144 families who receive these wonderful gifts around Christmas. This year the need continues to be great. The need to provide assistance to these families is very evident.
Ralph and Colleen Fowler have graciously agreed to coordinate this year’s effort again.
A significant part of this ministry is the collection of financial donations that are specifically designated for these food baskets and other social ministry needs including our cherished relationship with the Pangani school in Kenya. Please prayerfully consider contributing to this worthy cause. A $100 donation will provide a family with much appreciated food during this Christmas season in addition to funding other initiatives throughout the year. Additionally, to fund the Christmas baskets and Pangani, it is expected that revenues of $22,000 or more will be needed.
Donations can be made by sending a check to the church, or placing a check in the offering basket during Sunday worship (indicate Christmas Baskets on the MEMO line) or by giving online.
