New Classes for Fall 2010!

We are taking enrollment applications for the following 2010-2011 classes:

All children must be fully toilet trained.

Mornings 9:15-11:45:

M-W-F 2.5-3 years old
T-Th 2.5-3 years old

M-W-F 3's FULL--Wait list only.
T-Th 3 year olds

M-W-F 4 year olds FULL--Wait list only.
T-Th 4 year olds


Afternoon 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.:

M-W-F 4 year olds

Registration

Priority registration for the 2010-2011 school year begins January 4, 2010 and runs through January 31, 2010. Those eligible for priority registration are families that are currently enrolled in First Lutheran Preschool and/or families who are members of First Lutheran Church.

Open enrollment will begin February 1, 2010, at which point all incoming applications will be considererd until classes are full. Classes are filled on a first come-first serve basis.

The following steps are necessary in order to complete the enrollment of your child at First Lutheran Preschool. Spaces will be filled based on completion of the following listed below.

Fees: A non-refundable Registration Fee of $75 along with the last month’s tuition (May 2011) is due at the time of registration for preschool. Those who wish to pay for a full year's tuition (9 months) by September 1st receive a 5% discount.

Current monthly tuition rates (subject to change):

  • $170/month for two day morning program
  • $245/month for three day morning program or afternoon program
  • $385/month for five day morning program

Tuition fees are due on the first of each month. Payments after the 5 th of the month will be assessed a $10 late fee. Applicable bank fees will apply for non-processed checks. Checks should be made payable to First Lutheran Preschool.

Procedures

As soon as possible, complete and return: When the director receives your enrollment application and fees, a spot will be saved for your child. Complete and return all required forms prior to September 1, 2010 to guarantee your child’s placement:
  • Emergency Form
  • Health Inventory and MD Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene Immunization Certificate to be completed by a health practitioner.
  • Picture Release
  • All About My Child Information Sheet

Scholarships: First Lutheran Preschool will reserve three spaces in each classroom for children of families in great need. Please contact the Director to learn about eligibility requirements and the scholarship rates available. All scholarships are partial scholarships.

Termination of Enrollment: We assume that when a child is registered, it is for the entire school year. If withdrawal becomes necessary, a two-week notice should be given to the Director in writing. A refund will be made of all tuition fees collected for future months. Any month or part of a month in which the child has attended is not eligible for a refund.

Discharge Policy: First Lutheran Preschool reserves the right to drop or terminate service after consultations with parents/guardians, when the welfare of the child or group would make this advisable. Reasons for termination may include but not be limited to:

  • Lack of parental cooperation
  • Non-payment of fees
  • Inability of the child to adjust to the school
  • Continual late pick up
  • Inability to meet the needs of the child without hiring additional staff

Snow Closing Policy

If Howard County Schools are closed, First Lutheran Preschool is also closed. If Howard County Schools are opening one or two hours late, the preschool will be open at 10:00 a.m.
